I am deeply impressed at Anybody who finishes the P90x muscle toning program. I am on day 29 and I feel like I am making great improvement. The eating plan is the most tricky to stick 100% to. I am looking forward to being in the best shape of my life. BRING IT!

Thanks so much for the comparison. I was interested in the P90x but honestly do not want to be purchasing extra equipment so it was great that you clarified that for me. I think I'll give the Insanity a try as I'm a gal looking to slim down a bit and not bulk up.
Quick question, how many dvd's are included with Insanity? Quite frankly, the P90x is a bit confusing with all the dvd's. Is the Insanity the same or does it simply follow a one DVD at a time approach?
Thanks :)

I agree and appreciate your comment. My article was about the style of each workout program and not about the results. As you said, I have not fully completed Insanity, I am actually at the half-way point right now.

After I have completed the program I will give a review.

I wanted to focus on sharing the similarities and differences of each program for those trying to decide which is best for them. They are two different beasts but each provides an intense challenge.

You still focus on strength training so it's not like you will get so weak you can only do 1 pull-up. Though with the lack of pull-ups I imagine you may lose some proficiency. However, I am sure you can quickly gain it back when returning to P90X.

I actually plan to do a hybrid schedule including P90X resistance workouts and Insanity cardio workouts as soon as these 60-days are up. I'll post the custom calendar when it is completed!

Thanks again for your concern, I hope this reply cleared up the the intention of this article for you!

Hey,

I appreciate this comparison, however I can not help but notice that Insanity only launched a couple of weeks ago, hence how did you complete the 60 day program already?

If you ask me Insanity and p90x are not even in the same league, p90x focuses on increasing lean body mass and reducing body fat, whereas Insanity seems to focus on cardiovascular endurance and body fat reduction.

What really bothers me with Insanity however is the fact that it has no pull ups whatsoever, that means over time you lat muscles will shrink in size. And then if you decided to go back to P90X one day you have to start with 0 pull ups again. That's disappointing.

But then again I haven't really tried it out yet, and to get a better comparison one really ought to have completed the 60 day program including the nutrition part.

But then again looking forward to your 60 day result when you are done.
