Insanity Workout Archives

I’ve never really run a promotion before but I thought in the spirit of all you Insanity workout fanatics why not come up with something sweet!

This IS NOT a Beachbody promotion! This is exclusive to my Independent Beachbody business for the month of February 2011 only!

I’ve been using Shakeology for about a year now almost daily and it’s part of my nutritional supplementation. I don’t use it to lose weight, I use it to get quality calories. Especially when doing intense workout programs like P90X and Insanity it is crucial that you supply your body with top notch nutrition so you can repair, recover, and get stronger than you ever have before!

The workout is one small part of the equation of health, your nutrition is a HUGE part that often gets neglected. So with that and with the upcoming release of Insanity Asylum i’ve decided to offer this special promotion for the next 8 days! Start with Shakeology on Home Direct and I will personally supply you with a copy of the exclusive 20 minute Insanity workout: Fast & Furious as a bonus!

I’ve spent the last 6 weeks or so recovering from a minor knee injury (I think I twisted it while running). It hurt a lot whenever pressure was applied so I was close to out of the game, basically doing what I could that didn’t involve leg work.

Of course with that any progress with Shaun T Insanity was halted! As we all know, unless your new to Insanity (watch the video below), there is nothing but high impact plyometric style moves.

What’s interesting to me during my time laid back was the difference between those people who say they will do something and those that just go out and do it. This is partly due to what I heard the other day though the source I cannot remember, “A well done is invaluably better than a well said”.

As I was near 100% recovered I noticed a rut I had sat myself into and how many times I told myself over a two week period that “I will start Monday“. It was at that moment that I just decided, “ screw you” to the thoughts and just proceeded to push play while I prepared my workout clothes!

Now I am approaching 3 days on because I decided I’d be better off to just Do It than sit around and Say It. One way gives results, the other gives excuses!

Here is a short video to boost you up with your Shaun T Insanity workouts!

P.S. If you don’t have Insanity yet stop talking about it and just get it today! Get started as soon as you receive it, no more exucses. Make a promise to yourself right now and get Shaun T Insanity Here

Oh The Insanity! I’m Back In It!

Well after a couple weeks of laziness after my move to a new apartment I have taken control once again with some big fitness goals!

Today was Day 1 back into Shaun T Insanity, I’m starting out with Plyo Cardio Circuit, not because it’s my favorite but because I know it will provide a due challenge. I love and hate that particular DVD.

Here are clips of my live workout:

I want to share a few words of inspiration. Life will happen, laziness will happen, and things will get in the way; however, there is never an excuse to give up on yourself and your goals just because you hit a bump in the road.

I feel that your ability to pick up after losing track is a huge defining attribute to your character. After-all, if you could never feel the sting of failure how could you ever realize the bliss of success?

So plain and simply, if you have not been working out recently, if you have fallen off track and you don’t know how to get back on, this is my advise. Pick up right now anywhere! Doesn’t matter where you start as long as you start somewhere!

Remember your original desire, you started for a reason so find that reason again. Sit in a quiet place and remember why, don’t just remember but commit to yourself and others to pick back up and get it done. Goals without a definite plan of action to reach them are only dreams. Create a solid plan and commit to it, turn your dreams into reality.

Push Play,
Jason Croxford aka Betterbody90

The Re-Official Start of my P90X / Insanity Hybrid

Alright, I’m not going to spend the next couple minutes giving excuses and reasons outside of myself for why I am restarting my hybrid workout schedule of P90X and Insanity

Basically, I started last week, got myself tunnel focused on my website, and ultimately missed day 2 which sent me on a downward spiral of missing day 3, 4, and 5. So I decided to push the start date forward to today (Tuesday September 15th, 2009).

I am preparing to take my Day 1 photos and measurements followed by recording a short and to-the-point motivational video to myself as part of reminding myself why I do this and what I want out of it. Sound weird? Well, believe me, having every form of motivation available to you when things get tough can be the make or break of your motivation and longevity in a workout program.

Keep in mind, working out at home is A LOT different than working out at the gym. Each has it’s ups and downs and I don’t feel either is superior but more about what an individuals preferences are. The thing is this, working out at home offers amazing flexibility to workout when you want, in the clothes you want, and only having to commute less than 60 seconds to do so.

BUT, when working out at home, most likely it is you and only you. So staying motivated can be difficult at times because you have nobody to impress at the time but yourself and nobody to push you to do it. So sometimes it’s easy to fall pray to temptations other than working out.

That’s why I am all about building an arsenal of motivational tools that I can use at any time to push forward, to tell myself why, and to remind myself of my day 1 convictions. I suggest you do the same, don’t just go at it and expect a perfect run through the program without any external source of motivation, no matter how strong you are internally we all are human and we all have down days.

With that said I am going to cut this short to take my pictures right now!

Be Prepared… I know I am!

Now Available! New Hybrid Workout Schedule

Ok so for those that saw the video I released on Youtube several days ago,  I have prepared a new Hybrid workout schedule combining P90X, Shaun T Insanity, and P90X+. I built the program basically around the P90X Classic style with a 90 day, 3 phase approach, but the workouts are different.

You are about to see what I am talking about AND you can even download the image file I created!

But first I want to explain a couple things.

#1 If you don’t have P90X+, that’s fine, just toss in Tony’s P90X One-on-One, Insanity, or other P90X cardio style workouts.

#2 I removed Legs and Back. Some people have shown concern about removing the lower body workout. This is my reasoning. Legs and Back rocks as a workout BUT there really are not that many actually weighted moves. Yes you DO do some calve workouts and some weighted lunges, but most of the moves are without weights and involved doing pull-ups.

My reasoning behind removing this workout is simply this. Insanity alone I believe has all the lower body power moves you need, it’s not just cardio; it’s squats, jumps, and power moves that will help shape and form your lower body.

I replaced legs and back with one of the upper body workouts from P90X so you’re still doing the pull-ups. I feel that Insanity effectively targets all the lower body stuff you need while P90X 3 days a week will target all your upper body and core. If you want to do legs and back, do legs and back. But honestly I don’t really think your legs are going to shrink up without that exercise, not when you’re doing Insanity.

If you want huge legs do Insanity with Ankle weights (2-2.5 pounds) and or wrist weights (2-2.5 pounds W/ the thumb hole). Or go to the gym and do weighted squats. If you want bigger calves, toss in some weighted calf raises at the end of one or two workouts each week (But make sure to space it at least 2 days – Never work the same muscle group hard two days or more in a row!) Your muscle growth comes in the rest and repair, not in the actual workout itself.

Ok, with those out of the way, here is the video which gives a little more explanation of my Hybrid Schedule.

Keep in Mind that this schedule is designed for those that have done P90X, Insanity, or a mix of both and want a new challenge using the same programs. This is a way to add variety and Super Muscle Confusion! I wanted something new because after going through all these programs, let’s be honest, they get old. Don’t get me wrong, I love them! But when you do something so many times it gets boring.

So, I thought I’d add some extra variety and even mix up trainers so its like having two super motivating physical trainers telling you to push your hardest!

I think my favorite aspect of this new hybrid schedule is the fact that the Cardio Abs and Ab Ripper X cycle each week so it mixes it up! Muscle Confusion is the real deal and this schedule brings it to a whole new level.

Leave your comment below and let me know what you think, good or bad, I want to hear your opinion! I feel anyone can learn anything if they keep an open mind so I’d love to hear what you think.

You can Download your image file version of this schedule directly below and use it at your own risk, you don’t have to follow it verbatim, mix it up if you want but follow it 100% if you can.

You will need the following workout programs to complete the schedule as it is setup. You can get any of these programs through my official Team Beachbody Store:
