Welcome back! I know you have been back and forth a couple times here. Did you know I am a customer of Beachbody but also make money as an Authorized Distributor? Curious? Use the Contact Form for more info

I believe P90X is more than just a workout program. Just like Beachbody is more than just a company selling product. Perhaps that’s why I am getting in amazing shape and creating a stand alone income at the same time??

Believe me, this update is less telling you about what I do that get’s me the results I desire and more about the philosophy that gets me there.

It’s this one philosophy I practice Every Single Day that allows me to find success in many aspects of life. I will share that with you in as this post goes on but I want to take a moment to fill you in on my recent P90X Workout journey with Kris Hanks and how we have been 100% on with our workouts since Day One!

I won’t make you read much as we shot a quick video today to get the adrenaline flowing in your veins, to get your heart pounding, and to Push You to Push Yourself! You see, whether you complete P90X or fail is not whether it’s a good program or not. Honestly, to me P90X is just a structure to follow so you don’t have to plan everything out.

But hey, who am I? I’ve only transformed my body and life out of a World of Warcraft junky into something meaningful and in the direction I always dreamed of. But it’s only happened through action! Think about it, a dream is simply a dream unless you take the steps to make it manifest!

Alright here is the Day 39 P90X Workout update (Legs and Back followed by Ab Ripper)

So that philosophy I mentioned at the beginning? Well, it’s as simple as this…

“Show Me, Don’t Tell Me”

It’s one thing to tell others (Or yourself in this case) that you are going to accomplish something. It’s completely different to show someone (Or yourself) the end product. My friend, it’s as simple as taking action and believing in yourself. That’s it, screw what everyone else says!

In this case we are talking about your health and well being, before you can show anyone and yourself that you can do P90X. You need to Buy P90X and Just Get Started! Self doubt and hesitation will kill you and your dreams…

So this is your cross road right now – Keep talking about it or just simple shut up and do it!

I have been asked many times, “Hey Jason, what do I do after the 90-days with the P90X Workout?

Well the simple answer I always gave back was, “Do it again“. It seems quite simple doesn’t it? But personally, I got thinking about my own journey and how I easily completed nearly 90-days in my first run but could never get past 2 weeks any other time I tried after.

Yeah there are different ways to mix it up but let’s face it. Once you’ve done 90-days of the P90X workout you know every single piece of dialogue and sometimes you may just get bored. Understandable right?

I am going to share some of my personal tips for finally getting back on track with the original P90X Workout and how I mix it up and keep it interesting. But what you Really want to know will come after, get ready…

Here are some tips for getting through another 90-days of the Classic P90X Workout:Added Intensity With P90X Plyo

  • The Real DVD’s let you turn off the music track so you just hear Tony and the Team. Use that! I stream high BPM energy music over the P90X workout so it gives it a refreshing new music track.
  • Add Intensity. The other day I added ankle weights AND wrist weights giving Plyo that extra extreme approach and believe me, it works!
  • Get a workout buddy! Find someone who wants to go through the program and commit to a time plus each other. Then just show up!

So those are just some ideas to help bring a new freshness to the Classic P90X for the Grad who wants more. But this is what you Really Want!

Beachbody recently branded Tony’s P90X: MC2 (Muscle Confusion 2) series! I’m stoked about this because it’s about adding extra variety by giving you a new DVD every month from Tony’s personal gym.

What can you do with these?

It’s simple, use them to add variety! My plan is this: I will begin switching out the Classic P90X workouts with the P90X: MC2 DVDs that are relevant. For example, if the P90X: MC2 workout involved weights with your shoulders and arms well then I will replace P90X Classic Shoulders and Arms. Get the idea?

OK, it’s nearly 10am and my workout buddy (Kris Hanks aka XtremeBeachLife) will be here for today’s workout. I need to cut this short so If you are looking at doing more than just 90-days with the Classic P90X Workout, well, you definitely want to subscribe to P90X: MC2 so you have more workouts in your arsenal.

But before you subscribe to P90X:MC2 you should learn more about it! Click the image below so you can find out how this new P90X workout series will work for you.

Get Rid Of The Excuses and Push Play With The P90X Workout!

That’s right! My workout buddy Kris Hanks (aka Coach Xtreme) and I have reached Day 12 of our Classic P90X Workout journey! You saw me personally transform on Youtube from Dec 08-March 09 but then Nothing!

What happened? Well, to be quite honest I kept making excuses! I would try here and again and even make videos saying “Guess what everyone, I’m back in it!“. Then after 2 weeks I would fade away. Basically I would tell myself “It’s ok to take today off” and that made it easier to take then next day off and so on.

Have you been or are you there now also?

Are you trying to push play but can’t make it past month one before you lost motivation? It’s OK! We are all human and fitness hurts, it really does! Think of it this way though, if it was easy EVERYONE would have a 6 pack! You have to Earn It through Hard Work and Showing Up!

Consistency is key!

My suggestion: Find someone who is as dedicated as you to push each other forward. There are days I would have not worked out but Kris showed up! Other days I have done the same for him! We are 100% on track 2 weeks in because we committed to a time and to each other, it’s that simple!

It can be anyone! Ask your sister or brother, mom or dad, best friend co-worker, etc. I bet if you look around you will find someone as dedicated as you to get this done. Stop making excuses and just DO IT!

Here is our latest Video Blog update of the P90X Workout Day 12 with a super power message to kick you in the butt and push you out of that rut into better health and fitness!’

If already have the P90X Workout all you need to do is Show Up and put in the work! Now, if you are researching before you Buy P90X then I have some Very Important information YOU NEED to look at!

  1. Check out this breakdown of the Required P90X Equipment
  2. Discover Exactly HOW the P90X Workout Schedule works!

The P90X Workout Schedule is comprised of three separate routines.

You choose where you want to start based on your physical conditioning and then just push play. The three options of the P90X workout schedule are broken down into Classic, Lean, and Doubles. I will give you a detailed yet easy to understand breakdown of each P90X Workout Schedule for those that don’t understand or needed clarification.

P90X Workout Schedule Options:

“Classic”

This is where most people seem to start, including myself – The Classic Workout Schedule is straight forward and offers the best combination or those ready to build muscle and burn fat as they go.

The classic workout schedule requires no more than 1 hour and a half in any one day – The longest workout of the entire schedule is Yoga X.

I chose to do classic in my first round of P90X and seemed to get very good results by sticking almost 100% to the workouts. My diet was nothing organized and didn’t follow the P90X Meal Plan. However, I did eat healthy and clean, i.e. no soda, candy, ice cream, red meats, sugars, etc. I still consume sugar but on a highly reduced level, pretty much only in my coffee – that is my one diet evil.

The Classic P90X Workout Schedule will work you out 6 days a week just as Lean and Doubles will do except you tend to focus on a mix of Cardio and Resistance training, nearly 50 / 50. It looks something like this:

1. Monday: Resistance + Abs
2. Tuesday: Cardio
3. Wednesday: Resistance + Abs
4. Thursday: Stretch / Balance (Yoga)
5. Friday: Resistance + Abs
6. Saturday: Cardio
7. Sunday: Off

The Classic P90X Workout Schedule is ideal for those ready to get started from ground 0 and not looking to lose a ton of fat up front before building muscle. The above example stays true through each phase with a few resistance videos switching up to add Muscle Confusion. Let’s look at Lean now.

“Lean”

The Lean Workout Schedule will have you focusing on Cardio a lot more than resistance. This is a great place to start for those that want to focus on weight loss first and then maybe work into muscle building later on. With Lean you will be doing a lot more cardio options which in turn will burn more calories and help you drop fat faster.

I have not tried the lean P90X Workout Schedule option myself but I think it would be ideal if you wanted to condition and didn’t think you were quite ready to jump into Classic. You will need to set aside up to 1 hour and 30 minutes for your Lean Workout Schedule; the longest workout is Yoga X.

A Lean P90X Workout Schedule would look something like this:

1. Monday: Core / Cardio
2. Tuesday: Cardio
3. Wednesday: Resistance + Abs
4. Thursday: Stretch / Balance (Yoga)
5. Friday: Resistance + Abs
6. Saturday: Cardio
7. Sunday: Off

Notice how Monday differs from the Classic P90X Workout Schedule – You add an additional cardio / core exercise to maximize fat burning and core strengthening.

Now what’s interesting is at phase 3 of the Lean workout schedule you actually do workouts similar to Phase 1 of the Classic workout schedule. With that said you can see how Lean is designed as a lead up into Classic and then Classic builds into what we will look at next.

“Doubles”

Alright, this is the ultimate P90X Workout Schedule and for those already in shape or already doing Classic but ready for more. You will see why in a moment. Now with Doubles you will need a lot more dedication and time, you will need to set aside up to 2 hours and 20 minutes on some days. In most cases you will wake up and do cardio, then a couple hours later or in the evening you will do resistance + Abs.

Let’s take a look at what the Doubles P90X Workout Schedule looks like. ( Now keep in mind in Phase 1 Doubles appear to be the exact same as Classic – In phase 2 this changes by adding 3 cardio workouts each week and in phase 3 there is a significant change by adding 4 cardio workouts)

The following example is based off the Doubles P90X Workout Schedule – Phase 3. I want you to see how serious this really gets!

1. Monday: AM – Cardio / PM – Resistance + Abs
2. Tuesday: AM – Cardio / PM – Cardio
3. Wednesday: Resistance + Abs
4. Thursday: AM – Cardio / PM – Stretch and Balance (Yoga)
5. Friday: AM – Cardio / PM – Resistance + Abs
6. Saturday: Cardio
7. Sunday: Off

Notice how extreme is gets? The biggest difference between Classic and Doubles is the addition of all the Cardio. The best way to compare is this – In Doubles phase 3 you’re basically doing Classic with 4 additional Cardio workouts a week. Pretty intense eh – Believe me, it is!

Well that was a quick look at the P90X Workout Schedule and the variations that occur. This is a generalized overview but was hopefully informative. Keep in mind that with P90X and Muscle Confusion your resistance days will switch up to continuously bring intensity and challenge so you never fully adapt. This is the power of the P90X Workout Schedule – Choose Yours.

  • If your new and want to lose weight fast – Do Lean.
  • If you’re seasoned and want a challenge plus muscle gain – Do Classic
  • If you’re a pro and classic is not a challenge, get extreme – Do Doubles

The choose is yours and the P90X Workout Schedule allows so many variations there is no reason why you should not be pushing play today – Take responsibility for yourself and your health, take action today!

Today wrapped up 9 days 100% on track with the Classic P90X Workout Schedule!

Kris Hanks (aka XtremeBeachLife) and I decided about a month ago now that it was time to do something about our very dull workout schedule. I had become lazy after completing the P90X Workout last year in March 2009 and though I tried 3-4 times to start again, well, I could never make it past 2 weeks before falling apart.

So what’s different?

2 things…

  1. I have a workout buddy who has committed to showing up every day (Except of course when life happens).
  2. We have committed to a workout time every day (10am), that is WORKOUT time!

What I am trying to say is simply this. It took more than just “saying” I wanted to do P90X again, as a matter of fact I have said that 3-4 times since I completed my first run through. It took an extra commitment to someone else, myself, and committing to a specific time each day, 6 days a week.
