Take Action to Get Results with P90X {PX90}




Ready to get in Shape?

Let’s first realize what needs to be done then we will talk about Team Beachbody and how P90X (PX90) can get you there. But first…

It’s time to stop making excuses and step forward by taking the actions necessary to reaching your goals. You will not get in shape and get the body you want by watching E Channel’s Top 25 Hott bodies. I know we are all guilty of wanting something so badly but you never actually do anything about it.

I spent a year having P90X in my possession but did nothing about it. I talked to people around me and told everyone how I wanted to get in shape. Did I do anything about it? No. For some reason it’s a lot easier to talk about it than actually make that decision to Push Play. You need to be of the mindset that you will complete this no matter what.

*For those that don’t know what P90X is – P90X is a home workout boot camp with 12 different DVD’s that focus on all aspects of fitness; Resistance, Cardio, Stretch, and Intervals – Mind, Body, and Soul. One day you lift heavy, the next day you punch and kick with Kenpo, and another day you are pushing your boundaries with Yoga.

P90X is broken into 3 Phases – 30 days each. Every phase mixes up the DVD’s and brings a new challenge so you don’t get bored and you never stay fully adapted to the workouts. Keep in mind you can use Bands in place of weights and a chin up bar, you can modify moves to adapt to your level, you can pause the videos to recover – You are really left with no valid excuses. Do it!

You know, I had not worked out in over 4 years. I had spent that time getting out of shape sitting in front of my computer – I played World of Warcraft and drank beer. I had an amazing experience with so many interesting people, I regret nothing. But I lacked the mindset that I could do this. One day I decided no more, I hit play and never looked back. I didn’t spend time planning it out or thinking about 90 days. I just hit Play and Did It.

Sometimes it’s about locking down your life and getting your focus back. P90X is not the only one answer but it IS a tool that will get you to where you want to be. A lot of things work out there, but it is only through your own “doing” that the results are achieved.

Let me ask you this – Were you in shape before? Do you remember how you felt?

If Yes, Do something about it! It’s that simple. All you have to do is Push Play.

Have you always been overweight and want something to change?

You can make this happen, I promise you! It starts by loving yourself for who you are now. Without that love for yourself you will always want something different. I am not saying you have to love being overweight, but you have to love the being that you are. You are life and you are Beautiful!

Now take that energy and focus it. Use P90X as the tool to achieve your Fitness desires!

If your excuse is that P90X is to difficult, try something less intense. Start with One on One with Tony Horton, try 10 Minute Trainer, Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam, Chalean Extreme, whatever you need to do. What matters is that you start somewhere!

Those that take action today will achieve the results they desire tomorrow. Those that dream about results but hesitate will only ever dream of their results. Who are you?

I spent some time this morning going through an old notebook of mine – Through searching a variety of different entries I came across this one that means a lot to me. This sums up a lot about me…

“This is to the days we deny growing older
To the nights we will never forget
Our endless search of who we are
Our countless attempts to discover love
to our many accomplishments
Even more to our failures

To those short moments of utter beauty
Those long stretches of never ending work
To the addition to our already overwhelming responsibilities
To all those love songs

All those crazy nights we vowed to never repeat

ChaLEAN Extreme AND P90X!? Craziness!

You read the title right – I was really starting to miss P90X in my life so I did something crazy. I started P90X Round 2 {Day 1} on ChaLEAN Extreme Round 1 {Day 22}! I actually found that each program goes hand in hand when placed next to each other. Granted I am nearly 1/3 of the way through ChaLEAN, but that’s OK.

I won’t actually complete a full run through P90X Round 2 because I plan to start a dedicated “P90X Reloaded” phase after ChaLEAN. Setup kind of like the ChaLEAN Team Xtreme Skype Group we have going but for P90X. I’ll explain more in coming months so you can get involved!

This is what my new Routine looks like without looking at the P90X Rest week. Keep in mind I am doing P90X “Classic”. Also, I am spreading out my P90X workouts and ChaLEAN Extreme workouts by at least 2 hours in the day.

  • Day 1: P90X Chest and Back – Ab Ripper X – ChaLEAN Burn Circuit One
  • Day 2: P90X Plyometrics – ChaLEAN “Day Off”
  • Day 3: P90X Shoulders and Arms – Ab Ripper X – ChaLEAN Burn Circuit Two
  • Day 4: P90X Yoga X – ChaLEAN Burn Intervals – ChaLEAN Ab Burner
  • Day 5: P90X Legs and Back – Ab Ripper X – ChaLEAN Burn Circuit Three
  • Day 6: P90X Kenpo X – ChaLEAN Burn it Off – Recharge
  • Day 7: REST!

Repeat Week 2, 3, etc….

Obviously every week is not like this but I wanted to show you how well each program compliments each other when placed side by side. You never work the same muscle group two days running, this allows for ample recovery time and IMO, maximum results!

Of course, a program like this will require a lot more time and a huge Calorie requirement – I am aiming to consume at least 2800 calories upwards to 3800 a day! Keep in mind I don’t have any more weight to lose after my first round of P90X. I simply want bulk muscle.

I am what you would consider a “Hard Gainer”, meaning I have to work constantly to Build and Retain muscle mass. When I was 18 I designed my own resistance training diet along with the “Body Pump” routine. In 12 weeks I was able to gain upwards to 15 pounds on my 5’8 frame in solid muscle and was pressing 200 pounds (6 reps) when I weighed 165 pounds. It is my goal to return to that weight level.

I will stick as close to my new Hybrid Schedule as possible – Expect some serious Results! I know I do :) .

I have been using this method over and over again to make my own home made yogurt – I prefer to make it simple and unsweetened but the choice is yours. Here are the ingredients and accompanying steps you will need to take. Making your own yogurt is not hard by far but it is a time process.

To make 1/2 Gallon of Home Made Yogurt you will need the following:

  • 1/2 Gallon Skim/1%/2%/Whole Milk Your Choice
  • 1 Cup Store Bought Yogurt with Active Cultures (Or 1 Cup of Your Own Yogurt)
  • 1 – 2 Cups of Non-fat Dry Milk

Add Sugar if you so Desire about 1/2 Cup
Also, add about 2-3 teaspoons of all natural vanilla extract for added flavor

For Equipment you will need

  • 1 Gallon Pan for heating the milk
  • A Wisk or Large Spoon
  • *** A Thermometer is Necessary!!*** Any Kitchen Type Shall Do – I use a Candy Thermometer.
  • 1/2 Gallon container to pour the mixture into for Incubation
  • Pan Filled with water for the Water Bath

Heat up the Milk of your choice on Medium to Medium-High stirring occasional and continuously watching the Thermometer until the milk reaches 175-180 Degress F. At this point you can add any sugar or flavor ingredients you so desire. Stir in until dissolved.

Otherwise just remove from heat and place in an Ice Water Bath until the milk Reaches approx. 120 Degrees F. Remove from the water bath. From this point add the Dry Milk and Stir until Dissolved (This should bring the Temperature Down several degrees) Add the Entire Contents of Yogurt and once again stir until fully mixed.

Pour the Mixture into your contained and seal (If your container does not have a seal that is OK but you will want something different when it comes time to store the yogurt). Place the yogurt in a fresh water bath of warm water equal to about 118-120 Degrees F. Clip the Thermometer on the outside of your yogurt container several inches into the water bath. Place in you desired area for incubation and check back several times in the first hour to make sure the temperature stays around 115-118 Degrees F.

If the Temperature drops below 110 simply remove the entire water bath and place in the kitchen sink – Add Hot tap water until the Thermometer reads about 120 Degrees F and place back in the oven.

* I found the best option for me is to pre-heat my oven to the lowest temperature (170 Degree F) and then clear off – Open the door and let cool for about 3-5 minutes before placing the water bath and Yogurt inside. Once everything is placed inside just check back periodically – Using the warm oven will keep a consistent temperature and will require little maintenance.

After Approx. 10 hours at 115-118 Degrees F you can remove the yogurt from the water bath – If the contained is not sealed, place plastic wrap or some kind of seal over the top and refrigerate for several hours. You can eat it instantly but nobody likes warm yogurt. I usually time it so it incubates all day and refrigerates all night. Then when I wake up I have fresh, tangy, home-made yogurt!

Pour over cereal, add to a protein shake, toss in fresh fruits like Blueberries – Raspberries – Strawberries – Bananna’s – etc.
